about

In my beginning is my end. In succession
Houses rise and fall, crumble, are extended,
Are removed, destroyed, restored, or in their place
Is an open field, or a factory, or a by-pass.
Old stone to new building, old timber to new fires,
Old fires to ashes, and ashes to the earth
Which is already flesh, fur, and faeces,
Bone of man and beast, cornstalk and leaf.
Houses live and die: there is a time for building
And a time for living and for generation
And a time for the wind to break the loosened pane
And to shake the wainscot where the field-mouse trots
And to shake the tattered arras woven with a silent motto.
-T.S. Eliot, East Coker, Four Quartets

And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord,

For he is good,
for his steadfast love endures
forever towards Israel.

And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers' houses, old men who had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice when they saw the foundation of this house being laid, though many shouted aloud for joy, so that the people could not distinguish the sound of the joyful shout from the sound of the people's weeping, for the people shouted with a great shout, and the sound was heard far away.
Ezra 3:11-13

I Quit's first release is three tracks from Tripp Freeman's Circuit Made Simple.

This is music for houses rising and falling, crumbling and reshaping themselves. This is music for ghosts pausing among the ruins, unsure if there is anything or anyone to haunt. The tension is never really released, the promise is sure but it's in the distance, echoing off the concrete and the wet pavement.
